“We begin something, we weave our thread in a network of relationships,
what will come of it we never know. This venture is only possible with
trust in what’s human in all people.”

life may curl
The old yacht Raffles on Capri has been in the Ricciarelli family for years. It is now accustomed to a life docked along the River Seine, Paris. Budding journalist, Piper Ricciarelli, is in town for an internship at the city’s international literary festival, and has been allowed to invite a few University friends, Oskar, Toby and MJ on board for a free summer stay to see the sights of Paris, under the condition that Piper gets her foot in the door of a career she’s been working toward forever.
It is not long however until Piper finds herself to be the only one venturing into Parisian life. To her frustration the others remain static inside the yacht, where time and perspective is drowned in dress-ups and drink, until one day the discovery of a binder filled with lost love letters, dated 1968, changes everything. While Piper is out taking notes and schmoozing, the three friends become preoccupied in translating clues and inventing role-plays of a past Italian romance. As they dive deeper into the world of the letters, they descend further away from Piper and the light of day, jeopardising their own reality, until they too are docked.
The urge for confrontation permeates the air as cabin fever sinks in and concerns on who has whose back begin to surface. A fermenting battle on where to draw the line reignites tensions trapped in the groups’ web of love triangles, and when the truth finally sinks in it arrives too late. Paris is in lock down and Piper is nowhere to be found. A foulness seeps from the city but the comfort of the cabin makes it difficult to fathom, no one can gauge which is more dangerous, to go outside or to stay in. Paris Lights are blinding and confronting. The cabin lights are hazy and distorting. The time to venture into reality and save a friend’s life is impending, but for those on board, which way is reality?
